Just the shell. That shell alone has to be just close enough to be chilling. A person whose skin is decayed was often called a monster, no matter how healthy and beautiful their core might be. If that’s the case, is it the shell that makes us human?
Just as everyone takes the power of currency—exchanged for numbers and a bit of encryption—for granted, the multiple layers of augmented reality—to the point where a separate term for it will become unnecessary—will be the world we live in. The virtual presence, whispering, 'Take me,' is already there. It has always been here. We will soon be satisfied with that 'just real enough' quality.
'Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.' Don't we receive salvation this easily when we drop our doubt and forget the principles that tightly weave the world together? They say that when you let go of what you believe to be the world, something akin to salvation finds you.
How long do you think you can remain human? How must I act to be called human, just like you? This subtitle. Your voice, reading it in your mind. This voice, which is nothing but the refraction of a true event. Is it me, or you, or the virtual presence?
